Practice Development in Mental Health
Listening to practitioners, and placing the resources where they can make a real impact.
Does it work?
The true effectiveness of practice development lies in its potential for promoting change in practice. A 'Creative Capability 2' tool has been devised by Steve Morgan & David Juriansz in their Camden CMHT projects (originated in October 2001).
This tool has been further refined to capture changes in practice for Assertive Outreach teams (originated in December 2003), and also for Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment teams (originated in April 2005).
The intention behind this approach to evaluation is on the participating practitioners making their own comparative evaluations of elements of team functioning. This is the numerical basis of ‘Practice Based Evidence’.
